I hate stuffing! Okay, so maybe hate is too strong of a word, but growing up, I never liked stuffing enough to even get a tiny serving on Thanksgiving. Maybe it was because my mom made the stuff from a box … I don’t know. I’m not sure if I ever had any homemade stuffing or not, but I do know I never had any I even liked a little bit!
So when Chef John decided to create a stuffing recipe for Thanksgiving one year, I was hesitant. But with ingredients like apples, sausage, and walnuts? I had to give it a try. Plus I’m definitely not one who won’t give something a try at least once. Unless it has gobs of mayonnaise, sour cream, ketchup or something nasty like that on or in it! 😉 (I’ve never been big fan of the condiments for some reason. Except for pickles. Yes, I know I’m weird, thank you very much!!)
I can’t remember when he actually created this recipe, but I do know this. I was hooked as soon as I took the first bite. I’ve never had any other stuffing I liked, but maybe that’s because this is the only stuffing I really ever want when Thanksgiving time comes around each year.
Yes, it is that good!
In fact, as you can see, I’m calling it the best Thanksgiving stuffing ever. I know it’s bold. I know I’m biased. And you may disagree. But you’ll never know until you try it for yourself.
We shared this delicious stuffing recipe during our first year blogging, when our photography skills were quite lacking, especially for certain recipes. This was one of them. We decided this recipe deserved a better presentation, so took this photo last year at Thanksgiving. Just ignore our horrid pic with the recipe for The Best Thanksgiving Stuffing Ever here!
We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
So what is your favorite Thanksgiving recipe?

My family usually sticks to traditional stuffing with no added ingredients like fruits or nuts. This looks interesting, but I don’t see me giving it a try.

We don’t make our own stuffing but may give this one a try. I always buy the boxed kind unfortunately.

Stuffing is my favorite part of holiday dinners. I will have to try this recipe it looks delicious.
Stuffing is my favorite and I make it every year. I always like to change it up a little bit and I usually will try that for dinner one night prior to the holidays just to make sure my family will like it. I am going to give this one a try next week.
I’m not usually a fan of stuffing. It’s not something we ever ate growing up. We’d have the bird or a roast but never stuffing. This looks like a good recipe though. I may give it a try.
I have to admit I love stuffing - its definitely a must with a roast - I will have to try this recipe for it as it sounds delicious. x

I have always LOVED stuffing. I really shouldn’t love it as much as I do. But there it is - I am a fan. Now this one with sausage sounds so scrumptious and decadent I might need to give it a shot.

I never liked stuffing growing up. But once I hit my thirties I could help but eat it.

Oh good … I hope he loves this stuffing too! I don’t really know any men who don’t like sausage …. kinda like bacon.
Stuffing is possibly my favorite part of the Thanksgiving meal. We have several good family recipes for it, but this version looks great too.
I need to start to plan my menu! These look pretty good!

I hated stuffing growing up as well and my mother made home made. I feel bad but I am learning that I just did not like a lot of what she made - though I love my mom! I would love to try this recipe, I love apples in our stuffing.
Whether or not someone can cook surely doesn’t define our level of love for them, thankfully huh? Otherwise my kids wouldn’t love me very much for sure!!
Hope you do try it and that you enjoy it.
I can definitely see the appeal in this. It actually sounds pretty incredible to me.

I have a recipe that I have used in my turkey well …since as long as I can remember. My mother made it, I make it and my daughter is already trying it out. It is the main course at our Thanksgiving dinner and wouldn’t be the same without it. As a matter of fact my husband has been begging me all week to make a “dress rehearsal” turkey on Sunday. This recipe sounds really good too and I would definitely give it a try, I love trying new things!

I like plain old stuffing. I remember going to my mother in law’s once for dinner and she served it with raisins, some kind of nuts and celery. I took one bite and had to throw the rest away.
I love stuffing with raisins. the sweet/salty combo rocks. Hate it with sausage - gag!
