Thanks for “dining” with us! We are a family of four that loves to eat! Some of our two children’s favorite toys are their play food items that they use in their toy kitchen (see the photo of them in the header!). When our son was a toddler he would constantly ask, “What’s that?” when we passed a restaurant in the car, followed by a request to eat at said restaurant. Our daughter has, as expected, followed suit in the love for and enjoyment of food in our family. One of our favorite things to do together as a family is eat out!
When we started this blog in 2011, we blogged as The Chef and The Lucky Wife. Life always tends to bring change in many ways, and we adapted as we grew in our blogging and now often blog as Chef John and Anne.
*About Chef John: Chef John graduated from Johnson and Wales University summa cum laude with a degree in Culinary Arts. He has always loved cooking so it made sense to pursue this path when he decided to leave the Law Enforcement field in 2001.
His family gets to be the taste-testers of his new creations and regularly sample new recipes we discover in our ongoing effort to find yummy meals for our family. Food and great new recipes we’ve tried have become a regular topic of conversation among family and friends, so we decided to start a blog to share our favorites with them, as well as anyone else who might like to join us. *
You can read much more about us from our Faithful Bloggers Podcast Interview, from September, 2011, here.

Low-Allergen Recipes
You will notice the inclusion of low-allergen recipes. Our family has been through an elimination diet in recent years. The elimination diet helped us identify several food sensitivities, so we are always looking for new recipes that work well within the guidelines of our food limitations. Having food sensitivities basically means we cannot have too much of those foods to which we are sensitive. This has been challenging as it varies some for each member of the family!
The low-allergen recipes have all been reviewed by Suzzanne Myer, the Nutritionist under whose supervision we completed the elimination diet. She has extensive experience helping people with food sensitivities. We found her while researching ways to help our son with eczema. She has helped people with a variety of medical issues, which you can read more about at her Elimination Diet website.
We would love to work with your company or brand if you have a product or service that would bring some benefit to or enhance the quality of life of our readers. You’ve probably noticed by now that our blog focuses mainly on food, so anything food-related we would consider. We also blog about “secondary topics” such as faith and parenting/family, so those types of products or services we may also consider on a case-by-case basis. We also love cookbooks and would love to write a review for yours.
As consumers, we like to compare brands of products we are considering purchasing for ourselves and like to know what others who’ve used the products thought about them. Our readers benefit from the information we share about our experiences with products that may help them determine if the product is a good fit for their family or circumstances.
Companies and brands benefit from our presence and influence among family, friends and readers. Our Google PR is currently 3 and our Klout Score currently 50:
