In the past couple years, I have developed an interest in gingerbread houses. I have not gone so far as starting a collection or anything, but I just love seeing different designs and decorations on them. When I came across today’s recipe for Gingerbread Trifle, I thought it was unique. I’d never really heard of anything made with gingerbread aside from cookies. Have you? Maybe it was just me.

Our gift idea for today is a book written by fellow foodie blogger, Michael Lee West, Gone with a Handsomer Man:

My mom is an avid novel reader, and I gave this book to her as a gift. When she finished it, she said at first she wasn’t sure she would like it but once she got into it she could hardly put it down. She really enjoyed Michael Lee West as an author (this was the first of her books she’d read) and is looking forward to the sequel! The main character is a foodie and her recipes are a nice bonus at the end of the book.
Before you leave the party, don’t forget to check out the ideas from the Christmas Smorgasbord. Add yours!
