Meet Denise of The Bread Fairy: MaFF Monday #28

“If thou tastest a crust of bread, thou tastest all the stars and all the heavens.” --Robert Browning  (Source)

The Well-Fed Son would agree with this.  He would live off of bread and fruit if we would let him!  For all of you bread lovers out there, you will enjoy our featured Food-"e"-Friend for today, Denise, of The Bread Fairy blog:

1) Tell us a little about the "birth" of your blog. You've been blogging for a number of years now... why did you decide to start?
I have only been blogging for about 8 months. I started the blog mainly to keep track of my recipes and share that baking bread does not have to be scary. You don't have to use a bread machine, I didn't when I started but someone gave me one they were going to throw out so I took it and my obession with the machines started.
3) What would you say is the best bread you've ever made? Are there any that were flops?
The best bread I have made is one of the most easy, Challah Bread. It never fails no matter what and I always seem to have the ingredients in the house. It always turns out great and makes such a great looking loaf. As for flops oh there have been many especially the pretzel rolls I had to do that one at least 3 times before I got them right.
4) Which recipe would you recommend as the first your readers should try from your blog and why?
The best recipe I think to start with is Buttermilk White:

It is simple and never fails. It makes a tender loaf good for just plain eating or french toast or for sandwiches.
5) What feature of your blog would you like most for us to know about?
The best features of my blog, I believe, are my pictures.  Though not very professional yet, I try to show each step and the finished product, so you know kinda what yours should look like.

Head on over to Denise's blog for more great bread recipes!

And now for your recipes or other food posts!

If you are new, check out our Make a Food-"e"-Friend (MaFF) Monday page for more information on what this party is all about, specifics about how to link from your blog, and for more on how you can be a Featured Food-"e"-Friend in the future.

Just a few reminders before linking:

1) You can link any type of food-related blog post, including giveaways or food coupon offers. Make sure you use the URL for the actual post and not your blog so visitors can easily find what you wanted to share!

2) Don't forget to link back to MaFF Monday, using either a text link, Make a Food-"e"-Friend Monday, or the button:

The Saturday Evening Pot

3) Most of all, have fun and be sure to grab a pen and paper or open up your notepad to jot down the recipes you find that you know you want to try.

(Link-up open through Wednesday):

A special thank you to all of you who participate regularly as well as to our newer party guests!  It's always fun to see what everyone brings to the party.  Happy Monday, have a great week, and hope to see you again next week.

Before you leave the party, a little gift for you, some tips for buying bread, especially if dieting:
