- We mentioned last week that we were celebrating 12 years of marriage. We met during my junior year, The Chef’s senior year, in college. When The Chef first asked me out, he told me it would be an honor to take me out. Who could say no to that?! The honor has truly been mine to have shared all of these years with him.
- It’s no secret that we love food. Our favorite date is eating out at one of our favorite restaurants… or trying a new one! Through the 15 years we have been together, our top two favorites are Carrabba’s and The Mustard Seed. The Well-Fed Son loves eating out as much as we do. His favorites right now are Cracker Barrel, Moe’s, and McDonalds.
- The Chef has been in 35 out of 50 states in the US. I, on the other hand, had not been outside of the southeastern United States, aside from traveling to Washington, D.C a couple of times, until we adopted our son from Vietnam. This was also The Chef’s first international trip, as well as my first experience flying!
- We have moved more often during our marriage than a military family, having lived in a grand total of 10 different homes. That is way more moving than we would have liked to have done these past 12 years, to say the least.
- We both have shopped in the children’s department for clothes as adults. The Chef bought a pair of 28-inch waist jeans in college, and I have bought girls’ shoes before. My feet are a size 4.5, which can be challenging to find.
- We attended college in a mountain climate and both of us prefer the cooler weather. We lived there for two years after getting married and have lived in areas with very warm climates ever since.
- We also have always lived in tourist areas. The benefit of this is that it usually means there is plenty of entertainment, but the down side is that it usually means the cost of living is high.

Blogging and connecting with others who share similar interests has enriched our lives in ways we had not anticipated. Blogging enables people who may never meet in person to learn from one another and to touch each others’ lives on many different levels. To all of the gifted bloggers sharing from your life experiences, thank you.
